how can anybody in the canned sardines business afford to be in the canned sardines business?

they're like 80 cents and always on the bottom shelf

nobody buys them

but they're in every store!

how do they pay the factory workers?

how do they pay rent for the factory?

they must sell 1 million or more every day!

considering the lifetime total sardines purchases so far for me and everyone i know is well below 1... it seems to me that either this whole thing is a sham, or somebody -- somewhere -- is buying thousands upon thousands of cans of sardines and not telling anybody about it

I buy sardines, as do my folks. I think it's less of a US thing. I guess the rest of the world is taking care of the sardine economy.

I would love to know who actually buys mint jelly. That actually made my stomach hurt a little.
